Yankees 13, Royals 4New York breaks it open early and cruises behind four homers

The Yankees finally got a stress-free win, breaking out for a big offensive day and rolling past the Royals behind a dominant third inning and a strong start from Will Warren.

New York did most of its damage in the third, when Amed Rosario, Cody Bellinger, and Ben Rice all homered in a five-run frame to put the game out of reach early. Bellinger stayed hot later in the game, adding his second two-run shot in the sixth as the Yankees kept piling on.

That was plenty for Warren, who matched a career high with 11 strikeouts across seven innings while allowing just two runs and no walks. From there, it turned into a back-and-forth battle.
