Twins 5, Mets 3 — Skid hits 12 despite Lindor blast

The Mets keep finding new ways to lose, dropping their 12th straight despite an early spark from Francisco Lindor.

Things looked promising early as Nolan McLean dominated, opening with five perfect innings, and Lindor crushed a three-run homer in the third to give the Mets a 3-0 lead. But the momentum quickly flipped.

The Twins chipped away with Byron Buxton’s two-run homer in the sixth, then tied it in the seventh on an RBI single from Luke Keaschall. In the ninth, control issues and defensive miscues opened the door, and Keaschall delivered again with the go-ahead single before another run came in to extend the lead.

Despite the strong start on the mound and a big swing from Lindor, the Mets offense stalled late and couldn’t respond, sealing yet another frustrating loss.

Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 — Stanton powers Bronx Bombers at Fenway

The Yankees leaned on a big night from Giancarlo Stanton and a dominant pitching performance to shut out the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Stanton got things started early with a solo homer in the second, then delivered again in the sixth with a two-run double that broke the game open. The slugger finished with three RBIs, continuing his strong history at Fenway.

On the mound, Luis Gil kept the Red Sox lineup in check all night, allowing just two hits over 6.1 scoreless innings. The bullpen took it the rest of the way to complete the shutout as Boston struggled to generate any offense.

The Yankees offense added insurance late and never looked back, cruising to a clean win in the rivalry matchup.
