🎬 Must-See Moments
Opening Day is finally here.
After an electric World Baseball Classic set the stage, the 2026 MLB season is officially underway, and it didn’t take long for things to get going. The Yankees kicked things off with a statement win, and as a Giants fan that was a tough watch. The Yankees played just about as good as you can in the first game of the year.
Looking forward to today’s slate, there are no shortage of must-watch matchups right out of the gate. Paul Skenes gets the ball early this morning for the Pirates against Freddy Peralta and a completely retooled Mets lineup in one of the most intriguing pitching duels of the day.
Out west, the Dodgers begin their push for a three-peat behind Yoshinobu Yamamoto against Zac Gallen and the D-backs in a heavyweight NL West battle.
Later tonight, the Guardians and Mariners square off in a matchup of 2025 division winners, with Logan Gilbert taking on Tanner Bibee in what could easily feel like a playoff preview.

Hope everyone enjoys a fantastic Opening Day slate of games and we are looking forward to another great season sharing baseball with you all.

Yankees 7, Giants 0 — Yankees break it open early, cruise on Opening Night
The Yankees came into Opening Day hearing all offseason that they were just running it back. If this is what that looks like, they’re going to be just fine.
They took control of this one in the second inning and never gave it back. A five run frame did all the damage, with Trent Grisham ripping a two run triple and Ryan McMahon adding a two run single as New York jumped all over Logan Webb early. From there, it felt like the Yankees were in control the rest of the night.
Max Fried handled the rest. He wasn’t perfect early, but once he settled in, he cruised through 6.1 scoreless innings and kept the Giants completely quiet. The bullpen followed it up and finished off the shutout with no drama.
The lineup didn’t even need Aaron Judge to do damage either. He went 0 for 5 with four strikeouts, and the Yankees still put up seven runs with contributions all over the lineup.
For the Giants, there just wasn’t much going. Three hits total and no real threats all night. Once they fell behind early, they never found a way back into it.
If the Yankees are putting up runs like this without their best hitter producing, that’s a pretty scary sign for the rest of the league.
