2025 MLB All-Star Game:

Editor’s Take: The 2025 MLB All-Star Game was one for the books. Credit to MLB, they’ve done a great job the past few years marketing their stars and last night’s game was a perfect example of that. Every inning brought high level matchups and there honestly wasn’t a dull moment the entire night.

If you didn’t catch it live, do yourself a favor and check out the full recap I’m sharing below. It’s well worth the 20-minute watch.

Outside of the swing off to end the game, the must see moment of the night was the Hank Aaron Tribute. MLB paid tribute to Hank Aaron during the All-Star Game with a stunning in-game recreation of his 715th home run, using projection mapping and pyrotechnics to light up Truist Park.

The ceremony was incredible to say the least. The crowd gave Hank Aaron’s widow a standing ovation, and there were some great nods to the scholarships and foundations that carry on his name. Just a solid reminder of how much impact Aaron still has in the game and beyond.

Schwarber’s Swing-Off Heroics Deliver All-Star Game Thriller

The 2025 All-Star Game will go down in history as the first MLB game ever decided by a home run swing-off. After a furious AL comeback forced extra innings, Kyle Schwarber crushed three consecutive bombs to lift the NL to a 7-6 win in front of a raucous Atlanta crowd.

🔑 Key Moments

  • Ketel Marte opened the scoring with a 2-run double in the first, giving the NL early momentum after Shohei Ohtani and Ronald Acuña Jr. crossed the plate

  • In the 6th, Pete Alonso launched a three-run homer to right field, followed immediately by Corbin Carroll’s solo shot to make it 6-0 NL

  • The AL stormed back in the 7th as Brent Rooker crushed a three-run homer to cut the deficit in half

  • Down to their final outs in the 9th, the AL got back-to-back doubles from Byron Buxton and Bobby Witt Jr., then a clutch infield single from Steven Kwan to tie the game at 6

  • With no extra innings, a Derby-style swing-off was used to decide the game. Schwarber went 3-for-3 with towering blasts to outduel the AL’s trio and seal the win
