📊 Final Scores and Highlights
Dodgers 4, Phillies 3 — LAD leads series 2-0
The Dodgers built a steady lead behind Blake Snell’s dominance and a key two-run single from Will Smith, but had to survive a chaotic ninth in Philadelphia to escape with a 4–3 win and a commanding series edge.
🔑 Key Moments
Through six tense innings, Blake Snell baffled the Phillies, striking out nine and allowing just one hit to silence the Citizens Bank Park crowd.
In the seventh, Teoscar Hernández and Freddie Freeman opened with back-to-back hits before Enrique Hernández put LA on the board with a fielder’s choice grounder that scored Hernández from third.
Moments later, Will Smith lined a clutch two-run single to left, extending the Dodgers’ lead to 3–0 and giving Snell the breathing room he needed.
Max Muncy added a double in the eighth, setting up a late insurance run that made it 4–0 heading to the bottom half.
The Phillies finally struck in the ninth, when Nick Castellanos ripped a two-run double to right, cutting LA’s lead to 4–3 and igniting the ballpark.
With the tying run on second and no outs, Mookie Betts called for a wheel play on Bryson Stott’s bunt — and Max Muncy pounced, firing to Betts for the out at third, a game-saving defensive gem.
Roki Sasaki entered with two outs and the tying run on third, needing just two pitches and a clean Freddie Freeman scoop at first to end the rally and secure the heart-stopping win.
