📊 Final Scores and Highlights

Dodgers 4, Phillies 3 — LAD leads series 2-0

The Dodgers built a steady lead behind Blake Snell’s dominance and a key two-run single from Will Smith, but had to survive a chaotic ninth in Philadelphia to escape with a 4–3 win and a commanding series edge.

🔑 Key Moments

  • Through six tense innings, Blake Snell baffled the Phillies, striking out nine and allowing just one hit to silence the Citizens Bank Park crowd.

  • In the seventh, Teoscar Hernández and Freddie Freeman opened with back-to-back hits before Enrique Hernández put LA on the board with a fielder’s choice grounder that scored Hernández from third.

  • Moments later, Will Smith lined a clutch two-run single to left, extending the Dodgers’ lead to 3–0 and giving Snell the breathing room he needed.

  • Max Muncy added a double in the eighth, setting up a late insurance run that made it 4–0 heading to the bottom half.

  • The Phillies finally struck in the ninth, when Nick Castellanos ripped a two-run double to right, cutting LA’s lead to 4–3 and igniting the ballpark.

  • With the tying run on second and no outs, Mookie Betts called for a wheel play on Bryson Stott’s bunt — and Max Muncy pounced, firing to Betts for the out at third, a game-saving defensive gem.

  • Roki Sasaki entered with two outs and the tying run on third, needing just two pitches and a clean Freddie Freeman scoop at first to end the rally and secure the heart-stopping win.
